What is Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?

Facial Rejuvenation is a specialized acupuncture treatment that has been practiced for thousands of years. This is a holistic treatment that supports the entire body to function efficiently and maintains health and beauty naturally. As we age, we often start to notice more fine lines and wrinkles, our skin begins to droop in places we wish it wouldn’t, we can get dark circles under our eyes that don’t seem to go away, and our skin tone and texture may change and become uneven. These are all issues that can be addressed with Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, a holistic remedy. No chemicals, injections, fillers of any kind. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture stimulates the body’s own natural production of collagen and elastin to create refreshed, healthy looking, and feeling, skin. It helps minimize fine lines and wrinkles, tones and tightens the skin and tissues of the face and neck. No chemicals, fillers, or Botox are used in this treatment.

What can I expect from a Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture Treatment?

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture combines a specialized cosmetic acupuncture treatment with a full body Acupuncture treatment. This addresses fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles, hyperpigmentation, and sagging, and treats the root cause of these conditions. Those dark circles didn’t appear overnight. They are a sign of chronic exhaustion, of not sleeping well, of pushing yourself. We need to support and nourish you at your core, from the root. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture brings the entire body back into balance. You may notice some benefits in other areas as well, such as improved sleep, improved digestion, increase in energy, and an overall feeling of wellness.

In addition to the comprehensive acupuncture treatment, each session includes Facial Cupping and Facial Gua Sha. These modalities promote healthy circulation and bring nutrients to the skin and muscles of the face. Increased oxygenation of the facial skin and tissues can create more radiant, nourished, and healthy looking skin. Facial Cupping and Gua Sha help promote lymphatic drainage, as well as, support collagen and elastin production. This can result in smoother skin, relaxed facial muscles, and skin that appears tighter and more toned. Emotions such as worry, frustration, anger, or anxiety, are natural emotions. They are not “bad”. However, they are meant to be experienced and allowed to move through us, and let go. When we hold onto these emotions, they can create chronic tension in the facial muscles and tissues. This can result in more wrinkles and fine lines. This is why people get Botox. It relaxes the muscles and the wrinkles diminish. But Botox leaves one without the ability to emote, which can cause other issues. Not being able to emote can lead to stifled and stuck emotions within us. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, along with Facial Cupping and Gua Sha, help relax the facial muscles, release tension, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, without inhibiting the ability to emote.

What can Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture address?

While this is a comprehensive treatment that can positively affect many different areas of health, the primary reason people come in for this treatment is to address signs of aging. The fact that this treatment enhances your own beauty from the inside out, and allows you to still look like yourself is one of the biggest draws for me. This is a non-surgical experience that leaves us looking like ourselves. This is an all natural, holistic treatment that supports the body’s own mechanisms of healing. Our bodies are wise and are able to function optimally. Sometimes they need a little reminder. The combination of the cosmetic facial treatment, full body acupuncture treatment, facial cupping and facial gua sha help remind the body of its own natural mechanisms and work phenomenally well to address:

  • Fine lines & wrinkles

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Hooded eyelids

  • Sagging cheeks and jawline

  • Sagging skin

What are some things I can do at home to support healthy skin?

While Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture helps nourish, build, and replenish the whole body using a holistic approach, it is important to practice healthy lifestyle choices that will support the healing and rejuvenating process. Three aspects that significantly affect the face are diet, hydration, and sleep.

Diet -

The skin on our face reflects the quality of the foods we eat. Our bodies extract nutrients from the foods we eat and use those nutrients as building blocks for our cells and tissues. This includes the skin and tissues of the face. When we eat a nutrient-rich diet, the face is radiant and glows with health because the tissues are well nourished. Eating a nutrient-poor diet consisting of processed foods and sugar can contribute to malnourished skin, dark circles, wrinkles, and sagging skin.

Hydration -

Equally as important to the health of our skin is hydration. Did you know the skin consists of 64% water. Imagine the effect on the skin if we are constantly dehydrated. Not drinking enough water can contribute to dry, withered skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.

Sleep -

You may wonder why sleep is so important to healthy skin. During the day, our brains are very active… thinking, problem solving, planning. These metabolic processes create a byproduct of toxins, a kind of ‘exhaust’ that needs to be cleared away and flushed out. Our bodies have built-in mechanisms to process and clear out these toxins while we sleep. When we have good quality sleep, our bodies are able to flush out toxins that have accumulated throughout the day, and we wake up rested and refreshed. When we have extended periods of insomnia or poor quality sleep, the body can experience an accumulation of toxins. This can result in feeling sluggish, poor concentration, brain fog, poor memory, and low energy levels. Chronic sleep deprivation can leave you reaching for more coffee throughout the day.
